Hey everyone! I’m so happy to be blogging here.

Let me introduce myself for those that may be new readers. My name is Meagan, formerly the blogger of The Fat Pants Diet. That blog tracked my efforts to combine a passion for food and healthy, happy weight loss, wight varying degrees of success.

The Curly Pear is a fresh start–I’ll include tidbits about weight loss, nutrition, food, restaurant reviews and general life stuff. Everything is connected, non?

So let’s get started!

——-

Today I am starting Jillian Michaels’ Making the Cut program. Even though I’ve been “doing weight-loss” for a few months now—I’ve definitely lost the juice. I made some progress when I kept a food log and watched but you know–I had some success. I thought I could go it alone, just check in every once and while.

Wrong. Who knew that I am susceptible to hubris? Me :)

So I’m reinvigorating the program. Before I bought the book I listened to Jillian Michaels’ podcast, read some reviews and was pretty careful about picking this book to review and try, not only for myself, but for The Curly Pear. I like that it doesn’t pretend to be a ‘lifestyle’ book–it is a program that is for losing 10-20 vanity pounds, in a few weeks, for a purpose like a swimsuit vacation. And dontcha know that I have one of those coming up…

Also, of course, I’m looking to maintain this weight loss over the long term.

Here’s the book (sans cover):

Back to the basics: A food log

Over the next week I will post results, recipes and workout reviews from the book. Yay! I’m excited. I love finding new approaches to something.

See you at lunch!
