Hi-Ho!
There was thunder and lightning following us on the way to work today. We desperately need the rain. Texas has endured a very long dry spell that is taking its toll on local produce.

Rainy Window at Work
I didn’t have time to eat much of a breakfast. Just a little Kashi bar. I have to say that I really do love Kashi products – crackers, bars, pillafs. But the one product that misses the mark every time is their oatmeal. Gross. At first I thought it was just that one flavor but after a few more boxes of nastiness (and wasted $) I’ve decided to throw in my Kashi Oatmeal towel. Better stick to CM Organics or Quaker Oats Naturals.
Lunch was better. I brought a salad that I threw together this morning along with a leftover blue cheese burger from a couple of days ago.

I drizzled some honey mustard over the burger and its was YUM.
It felt so good to eat something homemade. I really am sick of eating out.
Later today Denise and I went to HEB for some dinner groceries. We decided to grill steak and seafood skewers along with stuffed portabellos. We bought fresh unpeeled large Gulf shrimp and HEB naturals Top Loin steak (the naturals line is grass fed, free range beef). We also picked up a few veggie items.
We marinated the meat and veggies with some specialty BBQ sauce and poured lime juice and salt/garlic over the shrimp.

To make the blue cheese melt really well we broiled the caps for a couple of minutes after they became fork tender on the grill.
What a great meatless grill option! It was flavorful and the texture was surprisingly nice as well. On top of all that it was very filling. Try it, you’ll like it
