Last night Jonathan and I decided to take it easy and order Chinese from Chinatown. Jonathan ordered Shrimp Curry and I ordered General Tso’s.  We then proceeded to sit on the floor and watch back-to-back Bones…’cause we’re slothful like that
Usually I love Chinatown’s food—they’re an interesting place for your typical Chinese. A huge [...]

Harvest Acorn Squash

Posted by meagan on Nov 11 2009

Last night I had no real plan for dinner, so I rooted around my pantry and fridge and came up with chicken sausage, dried cranberries, acorn squash and rice. Hmmm….
Harvest Stuffed Acorn Squash
1 acorn squash, halved and seeded
1 c. brown rice, already cooked
2 links chicken sausage, sliced
1/4 c. dried cranberries
1/4 c. walnuts, rough chopped
1 tbsp. [...]

Overindulgence

Posted by meagan on Nov 04 2009

It happens to the best of us, right?
Today I was going to finish posting vineyard pictures. However, after last night I don’t even want to look at a picture of wine/alcohol, much less think about it, because that might engage my olfactory senses, which might engage my taste buds, which might make me barf.
Actually, none [...]

Okay. So. We’re alive. We’re still in San Francisco. This is the first Wi-Fi we’ve consistently had and I have a million pictures to upload…so…expect more soon. Just…hello! We’ve had a fabulous vacation. I’m coming back inspired and hopefuly—just the things a good vacation should do. See you in a few days!

Small town surprises and kitties!

Hello all! What a weekend! We visited my family this weekend for some food and to pick up our new kitty. Pictures later.
We had a lot of fun. Some family came in from Washington state that we visited with, we enjoyed a few thunderstorms that we don’t get in Austin and found a nice wine [...]

Harry Potter!

Last night was tons of fun!
Wow! So much fun. I had a steak sandwich, Cornelius Fudge’s Sticky Toffee Pudding with Lavender Cream and the Zinfandel. Jonathan had Mama Weasley’s Onion Soup, Grilled Cheese and Butterbeer. Yum! Alamo Drafthouse has consistently good food, even if it’s a little expensive. They offer an extensive beer list, bottled [...]

July 4 Weekend

Posted by meagan on Jul 05 2009

Ah! This is the first weekend Jonathan and I have had a home, doing nothing, for over two months. Wooooow. For two introverts it was quite taxing! This is the weekend break we get before another onslaught: yoga teacher training weekends, weddings, showers, girls nights,  and then–our year anniversary! We’ll be marriage toddlers then [...]

Meatloaf Monday

Posted by meagan on Jun 23 2009

Hello! Wow, what a weekend. First of all, Jonathan and I visited Stonehenge..
Okay, so actually it’s “Stonehenge II”, outside of Hunt, Texas.
We had a fun weekend! We went to Mo Ranch, a campground on the Guadalupe River in the Hill Country. Very beautiful. We hung out with the families, both sides, hiked, swam and ate.  [...]
